A delegation of the California State Legislature visited Civilitas on October 10. The group included Scott Wilke, California State Senator; Adrin Nazarian and Laura Friedman, Members of the California State Assembly; and Dan Savage, California State Assembly Chief of Staff.
The legislators visited Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to gain an understanding of issues on the ground, and to establish new partnership opportunities with the Armenian diaspora community in California.
The group got acquainted with the work of CivilNet.am, the media project of the Civilitas Foundation, as well as the overall media climate in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The delegation also discussed civil society issues in general, and learned about the domestic and regional landscape of Armenia.
They emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Armenia and California.
